~The Dan's Flea: After a week of torment and a spin through the front loader~
~~~~~
Last night I accidentally washed The Dan's flea. Hmmmm. Is there a hidden message in this? Is it time that I wash myself of this shredded flea? It is Friday. I have spent an enjoyable evening downtown, wandering beautiful streets on a perfect early March evening. The week, this wretched week, has come to a working close (except of course for the grant I must work on all weekend...however I have promised myself some farming time, as well as time with a group of close friends). Yes, I must close out this special time with The Dan's flea. A new week must begin, a new day must dawn.
Where's the Frontline?
Oh, and yeah - what the flea says (I mean, it's still Friday, and it's still the best expression I an come up with...at least for tonight).
Sorry to read that it has been such a tough week. I think it must be a virus that's been going around...
I too am glad to see the light of weekend. Maybe I'll even get out in the garden a bit.
Hope you get all rested-up and restored.
You know, I keep thinking about starting the meetings with a poem...
It seems to me that this is exactly how a meeting should start.
Susan, thanks. If it's a virus, then my university has it bad. State budget cuts, program closings, etc. It's chaos. As for starting meetings with a poem, I highly recommend it! There's something about poetry that makes one's mind think a bit differently, and it's the perfect way to initiate lab meeting (where a person takes turn each week discussing progress/problems, etc). Also, oddly enough, I'm training microbiologists that end up being quite literate in poetry. That makes me smile.
I had fun reading about the adventures with flea. It looks like Dan has had a good time and the flea hasn't been ripped into a million little pieces. Reminds me of one of my dog's favourite octopus toys ~ I like to think it saved some of my shoes.
