What a treat - a painting of a salvia, Salvia puberula "Hidalago", by Matt Overend. I'm in awe of it - and thrilled that a little pot of salvias transplanted from my garden made it into his garden, and are now transformed onto canvas. Matt's use of color and texture just amaze me - his paintings look so different from a distance than they do close-up - the details of the leaves in this painting - the combinations of colors - are just beautiful.
