Katherine, I think he's amazing too. I don't know how he does it, the words are simple ones - but there's such a uniqueness, such a clarity to his writing.

My very favorite contemporary poet! I believe there is one about a persimmon, or is it a peach, that I really love, and of course the one about his father taking the splinter out his hand. He can easily bring tears to my eyes.

Anna Maria, I love him too. I think he's remarkable, the way he uses such simple words. Funny that you should mention the poem about the persimmon - I posted about that one awhile back (I have a persimmon tree in my garden):
