The St Thomas Carnival 'Adult Parade' was last Saturday - and it was filled with beauty queens (both old and new), feathers (a whole lot of feathers), color, sequins, more color, moko jumbies, steel orchestras, majorettes...and more. We made it there for the beginning of the parade (police guys on motorcycles - is that just universal?) - and watched it for awhile before walking down the street towards where the parade route started - where 'paradees' were still waiting to get in line. The parade was not fast - no one was in any rush - and why should they be? It was Carnival.

Was your camera resurrected?

It works on one setting, oddly enough. If I change a thing, it doesn't work at all.
Very cool, those moko jumbies.

Looks like fun, Pam, though it seems there are more participants than watchers? Glad your camera at least partially works for you.

Janet, it was fun - visually quite fascinating.
Jodi, my camera is holding on - but it's only one setting that will work. Not sure what is going on - but settings for 'night' images are the only ones that are working. As for the parade - it was strange, the parade route was quite long, and there were areas that were quite crowded (near where the mixed drinks booths were) - and then areas with families (in chairs with umbrellas) and then areas with folks sporadically lining the side of the road (where we started out). The parade route was several miles long (or more - I'm not sure where it ended with respect to where we were - it lasted about five hours).
