Mayo, ecch!!! I've always made it Lexington-style, with a thin sauce of ketchup, cider vinegar, sugar, black pepper and tabasco. Yummy on a pulled-pork hickory barbecue sandwich. (That's vinegar barbecue, of course.)

That is our family recipe!! I don't think I have ever made any other kind of slaw since I got married 30 years ago. My husband LOVES vinegar! Ah, German heritage. This is a coleslaw that is great for picnics as it can be out of the fridge for longer periods than the mayo one.
