Isn't it better than texting? :)
(I definitely do not text and drive - but I couldn't resist opening the passenger window and taking a random shot of the marsh - it was a gorgeous late afternoon).

IOP?
I'm beginning to catch up on my blog-reading by starting with yours: I wanted to see some pictures, you know.
You'd think it'd be hard to get excited about marshes, but they really are fascinating minimalist landscapes. Like the prairies here in Kansas. Thanks not resisting the urge to take the picture.

Hey John B., it's nice to hear from you! They're exactly like the prairies! That is a wonderful analogy. I remember when I first moved to Michigan (from Virginia) for graduate school - and I'd look out in these open fields that stretched for miles and I thought 'how could I ever grow fond of this flatness?' and in hardly no time, I did. The marshes here are just amazing to me - and a few years ago, a friend from Kansas (Manhattan) sent me a beautiful book on prairies for a Christmas gift.
Hope all is well.
IOP = Isle of Palms (the IOP connector connects Mt Pleasant, SC with one of it's barrier islands, Isle of Palms - it's a gorgeous long mostly flat bridge that sits just over a large expanse of tidal marsh).
