~a mysterious Glad, appearing out of nowhere~
~~~~~
Late Evening.
The feeling of a full and productive day. The Microbial Lab and it's illustrious members submitted two manuscripts for review today. Another is currently in press (with collaborators in Israel), and two of us meet with local collaborators tomorrow to respond to reviewer's comments on yet another manuscript. In addition - there are solid drafts of four more - each most likely ready to submit within the next few weeks. An invited review is being written too - and drafts of two other manuscripts, from collaborators in Australia, are soon to in my Inbox. Then there's the two, one on the proteome and one on the genome of our favorite coral pathogen - perhaps being thought about by lab members as I type this. The data is collected - much of the writing, the thinking, remains.
Then..there are three other manuscripts lingering - about a project I worked on a number of years ago, a project about a fascinating ship - that are waiting for me. The data is there, a rough draft of one of them is there - I just need time.
Time.
I just remembered another manuscript. I must finish it before the one on the ship. There is indeed a list - but in my 'publish or perish' world, this is sweet. I haven't been writing about science here much at all - but trust me when I tell you that we are working hard. The Microbial Lab is filled with enthusiasm - and verve. The science is exciting.
Today was a good science day.
Ok, that was interesting. Looks like somethings will always remain mystery.
I myself have been trying to solve the mystery of this legend for a while now. Could not understand much though.
Let me know in case you get to understand the mystery of the Old Hound and the Legend
By the way, good writing style. I'd love to read more on similar topics
Sounds like you have a great list of works in progress.
Wait -- sometimes science isn't exciting? Don't disillusion me; I don't think I can take it.
